Unchaiyaan Foundation is a registered non-profit organization working with various marginalized social groups mainly migrant workers, unorganised sector workers, persons with disabilities, and prison inmates. The key issues Unchaiyaan Foundation addresses is health, livelihood, food security, education, improving living conditions and access to public services. Unchaiyaan Foundation has initiated several direct interventions with communities with key focus on empowering them to access the available resources for their holistic development. Unchaiyaan Foundation makes special efforts to actively engage local, state and national government authorities towards bringing policy reforms and changes to ensure inclusive development among marginal communities.

In this changing world with unique challenges that threaten the health and wee-being of populace, it is imperative that the government and community collectively rise to the occasion and face these challenges simultaneously, inclusively and sustainably. Though civil society organizations have been contributing to public health for centuries, in more recent years however, they have grown in scale and influence, and are having profound impacts on health related issues. 

Our Growth

Over a period of time, with the commitment of the volunteers, the cooperation of our members and the generous support of our Mentors we evolved as a formal, not for profit organization, committed to change and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. 

Our Birth

This sense of responsibility for the present state of the society, a strong conviction in individual & institutional capabilities & capacities, an urge to do something positive and pro-active and the spirit of service gave birth to a voluntary association called Unchaiyaan Foundation in 2023.

Our Belief  

We believe Compassion, Conviction, Commitment, Consistent Conscious Efforts, Creativity and Collaboration can lead to Continuous Contagious Change for Individual and Social Transformation and Growth with the grace of God.


The Management

The galaxy of committed professionals in the area of their expertise is the strength of Unchaiyaan Foundation and its day to day activities are managed by them which include implementation of programmes, public health, Capacity building of staff , finance, communications, documentation, fund-raising, establishing linkage and relationship with external agencies and advocacy. The team has dynamic role in the overall supervision and management of the organization.

The team also provides input in terms of organizational planning, strategy and goal settings. The team is also responsible for resolving any concerns/issues arising from field staffs that were not possible to resolve at lower level. Responsibilities of the Management Team include:

Management of day to day activities of the organization,

Ensuring organizational functioning is in accordance with stated Mission and Vision,

Decision making on any field or office level queries/comments/issues,

Developing long term plans for the organization,

Providing valuable inputs in any strategic decisions,

Monitoring of all programmers to ensure maximum impact is being achieved,

Execution of programmers in time, and efficiently,

Search of new opportunities including projects, donors, membership and public relations etc,

Ensure the functions of organization in accordance with legal and statutory requirements of the Govt.

     Harshit Yadav

                Vice President

Harshit Yadav (born in India, 1993) is the Vice President  of the Unchaiyaan Foundation  (NGO), Lucknow, India. He received his master’s degree in Sociology with human resources management (HRM) as a field of specialisation from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow, India in 2016 .Harshit Yadav is a free lance writer and he has to his credit various articles on  social issues including children's rights, and human resources management issues published in national and international journals, books and web magazines and websites.His special areas of interest include Professional social work practice, Human resources management, NGO /Civil society governance and management, Project management, training and capacity building for NGOs, Human rights training including child rights, social research etc.He has served as Lead Researcher of various social research studies.

Pragati Verma


Pragati Verma is the General Secretary of our esteemed NGO. Born in the vibrant city of Lucknow, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. Pragati completed her schooling in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and went on to pursue higher studies at Isabella Thoburn College, affiliated with the University of Lucknow.With a deep passion for social work, Pragati obtained a master's degree in social work from the University of Lucknow, further honing her skills and knowledge in the field. Her academic background has equipped her with a solid foundation to understand and address the complex issues faced by our society.Pragati's career has been marked by a rich and diverse experience of working in collaboration with various renowned organizations. Her expertise and contributions have been instrumental in implementing impactful initiatives and driving positive change in the lives of those in need. Her extensive network and strategic partnerships will greatly enhance our organization's ability to make a lasting difference.Beyond her professional endeavors, Pragati values family and community. She comes from a close-knit family of four siblings, and her mother is a dedicated homemaker, while her father is a retired government officer. This supportive background has instilled in her the values of empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others.As the General Secretary of our NGO, Pragati Verma leads with integrity, compassion, and a tireless dedication to the cause. Her vision and leadership are instrumental in guiding our organization towards achieving its mission of making a meaningful impact on society.

Anant Kumar 



Anant Kumar Boudh (born in India, 2002) is the  Secretary  of the Unchaiyaan Foundation  (NGO), Lucknow, India. He  received  his  master’s degree in Social Work  with Rural Development as a field of specialisation from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow, India  in 2023. Anant worked on various  social issues including children's rights, education , beggary , waste managment , rehablitation, oldage homes ,gender equality, mental illness  and also have years of experience in marketing .His special areas of interest include Professional social work practice , NGO /Civil society governance and management,  training and capacity building for NGOs, Human rights training including child rights, social research etc.He has served as an Intern to  various organisations and currently working in the field of Rural Development.
